YZU is a comprehensive university under the direction of Jiangsu Province. The university is comprised of twenty-four schools and colleges and employs more than one thousand professors. YZU has established strong relationships with various industries and manufacturers, and many programs have been worked out to boost cooperations with diverse industrial sectors and to incorporate teaching with practical research. In the published Chinese University Ranking 2003-5, compiled by netbig.com, this university was ranked 136th on the list amid 686 selected universities.
In addition to a strong connection with industrial sectors, YZU has maintained its focus on teaching for its undergraduate and graduate students. There are over 2,000 university staffs, including prominent scholars and professors, taking up teaching roles.
